Staff Accountant: Must be willing to relocate from Helena to Bozeman in 6/8 months (or commute for 6/8 months to Helena)

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant serves as financial support to rental operations as well as other departments. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing financial statements, and providing accounting related communication to rental locations, vendors and various departments. This position also handles general ledger accounts, analyzes reports, resolves issues and variances, and calculates/prepares end of month entries.

Direct hire

Full time Monday-Friday

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare financial statements
  • Perform branch audit evaluations
  • Assemble bank reconciliation and account schedules
  • Prepare journal entries, expense accruals and allocations
  • Execute accounts payable and receivables
  • Participate in a timely and accurate month-end closing process
  • Assist branch personnel with questions regarding accounting policies and procedures
  • Analyze income statement fluctuations for assigned branches
  • Provide process improvement and cost saving ideas
  • May be responsible for T&E reports, coding, account classification and reimbursement amounts
  • May be responsible for preparation of sales and other tax returns
  • Prepare journal entries, expense accruals and allocations

Qualifications: Required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Must be planning to obtain CPA/CMA/MBA within 1-2 years
  • Must be flexible to relocate outside local area/state within a 1-3-year period to accept potential promotional opportunities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • People Soft experience
